Meet the real Elsternwick Hotel!

Since the release of The Great Australian Bite, I have been asked some interesting questions. I will try to answer them over the next few weeks. One of those questions was- Is the pub that Jamie works at real?
Answer: Yes it is!!!
Here is the stunning and very real Elsternwick Hotel. Built in 1854, this amazing building is one of Melbourne's best historic pubs. With a colourful history including Bushrangers and Criminals, The Wick is the oldest trading hotel in the area. It was built by Thomas McCombie and Robert Keys and despite the criminal element in the area at the time it was never robbed.
